IN MY DIARY
CHAPTER ONE
THE EXPERIENCE
It was a great day when I resumed higher institution. Judas and Iscariot were the guys I made my friends because I love making friends with people who are funny like me. Iscariot's hostel was the place we used to go for fun. Though I have been warned to be concious of friends but I had no option than to make friends because Jesus has millions of friends. Our relationship was like a bed of Ross, we pranked, joked and whined one another like a wheel. I did not know that in Iscariot's hostel lived a damsel that had a feeling for me until Judas said, "Do you know that Evelyn has a feeling for you?" I was flabbergasted and at the same time elated too because of instances he gave me as a proof for her feeling. In my eyes, Evelyn was like a resurrected Sarah who is like an angel in the snow. She treated me in a special way which made me to feel as if the world was under my foot.I appreciated Judas for calling my attention to her feeling but I had forgotten that a secret foe is dangerous than a swallowed poison. I told my friends that they should help me to convert her to Christianity since she did not have any religion. "Hmm, you mean you want me to convince her so that she can date you? why are we friends? I will surely help you" said Judas.
Few weeks to that time around 3a.m; I was in Iscariot's room with my roommate, we were deeply asleep until I heard cries beside the mattress like the cries of a baby when it is not fed. I opened my eyes and I saw the eyes of Iscariot raining heavily like the first rain in a rainy season. I disguised as if I did not see him, Judas entered the room and he was whispering. "Stop crying, we will elope soon". Through their whispers, I discovered that Iscariot did an awful thing that required police involvement.
I quickly poked my roommate and we instanteously left his hostel because they planned to elope with the hope of leaving us in the room so that the police would bag us away. I was disappointed and I felt betrayed. The same morning, I was passing by the window of Evelyn and I heard the sound of lips slaping each other. The voice I heard was the voice of Judas and I went back to my hostel. After I probed Evelyn, I discovered that she was dating Judas. I smiled sarcastically and I went back to my hostel.
Fact is the saying of the elders that the wound of the mind takes long to heal, what of eternal scars? I broke my friendship with Judas and Iscariot. I stopped greeting them when Iscariot created a scene in our school. He roughed me because I owed him 500 naira in which I had forgotten that I owed him. I stopped greeting them after I gave Iscariot the money I owed him. I was sad after I experienced the dilemma in friendship. Since the first man sinned against God and he was forgiven, I forgave them and we exchange pleasantries.
